Schneider Grunau Baby IIa (OH-BAF)

Grunau Baby II is a German sailpane introduced in 1933. It became a success and was built and flown worldwide. It was the most common sailpalne in the 1930s and still 1940s. Over 20 Babys were used in Finland, also in Kotka.

The fuselage in museum Baby IIa OH-BAF originally registered in Helsinki in 1938 as OH-HELSINKI ( and withdrawn from use in 1963.

Technical data: Wingspan 13,5 m, length 6,50 m, hight 0,0 m, wing area 14,2 m2, empty weigth 164 kg, equipped 250 kg, max. speed 160 km/h.
